The Requirements
To meet the basic qualifications for the Software QA Tester opportunity, you must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.To be a strong fit for the role of Software QA Tester, you will also have:

- 3+ years of software testing experience.
- Basic Information Technology troubleshooting skills; ability to read technical documentation and develop different scenarios.
- Basic proficiency with:
- Current Microsoft Operating Systems and TCP/IP Networking.
- Current Microsoft Office / Productivity Systems, including macro scripting/extensions.
- Microsoft database design.
- Basic understanding of Apache and Microsoft IIS web servers.
- Advanced proficiency with end-user ODBC methodology (i.e. – MS Excel External data capabilities).
- MS SQL Server database usage including the understanding of using stored procedures is an advantage.
- A high degree of analytical thinking.
- Trustworthiness with confidential data.
- A pro-active approach to your work.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management and record keeping abilities.
- The ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
The Role
Your RoleReporting to the Software Development Manager, as Software Software QA Tester, you will be responsible for testing systems and software within the IQE group for accuracy and integrity, in order to support developers in getting things right the first time.
On a daily basis, you will spend most of your time testing. Quick question for you - click here You will work with internal applications, performing manual testing and documentation. The majority of the time you'll support the development team, but you will also support business users, including training. For the most part, your time will be scheduled, but on occasion, urgent testing needs will arise and you will step up to meet demands.
As part of your specific responsibilities, you will:
- Attain a good understanding of the aims of the software being tested, including all patterns of usage and all validation and conditions required for the process.

- Plan and document testing patterns that thoroughly test for all eventualities.
- Provide accurate and concise feedback to developers and management.
- Carry out training, as required and requested.
- On occasion and as appropriate, document the operation of the software.
- Quickly become familiar with the software in order to support basic user queries.
- Effectively communicate with the users as needed.
