The business focuses on wide band gap semiconductors based on Gallium nitride (GaN), both commercial and military customers in the US, Asia and Europe.
To get a sense of where you will fit in, picture a triangle. At one point is our development team, a stable of brilliant PhDs. At another is the sales team, a resource we share with the Wireless Business, and at the third point is our customers. You'll be right in the middle, acting as liaison, coordinating activities and communicating fluently with all groups. We'll provide the training and coaching you need.
You will take on assigned existing accounts, developing relationships with key customer contacts and establishing yourself as a value-add partner to help them achieve goals. This will require you to become familiar with their goals and challenges on both the technological and commercial sides. You'll become a key point of contact for them, fielding both technical and commercial questions.
You also can make an impact as we prepare to migrate to Microsoft Dynamics, particularly with the CRM module. At minimum you will use it to manage contact information, update the sales forecast/funnel, etc. We also would like you to become the "super user" for PoBU, establishing best practices and working with IT to create reports, dashboards and other tools.
More specifically, you will:
- Provide customer and account management, including quality and issue resolution.
- Act as technical interface with customers, including spec definition, and collaborate with PoBU Applications & IQE GaN Technology regarding layer tables, substrates, metrology requirements, etc.
- Create monthly reports on sales forecasting and funnel updates.
- Manage customer in the CRM, including new customer setup, dashboards, pipeline, backlog, revenue, contacts, correspondence, etc.
- Participate and report in weekly Power Business Unit sales meetings.
What's in it for YouProfessional development
Depending on what you bring to the table, we'll help you get up to speed on our technology and also provide coaching in sales and customer relationship management. You'll learn from a team of exceptionally bright and successful professionals. In addition, you'll gain insights into different industries and applications.
Momentum and growth
PoBU is relatively new within IQE, but we have quickly become a significant revenue stream. One reason is that GaN is poised to take over where silicon is proving limited, especially in power applications. Another is that IQE is leading the industry in innovation. This role will put you on the leading edge of our ongoing growth, and growth will create opportunities for strong performers.
Great time to join
GaN technology is one of IQE's two highest strategic priorities, and the VP often presents to senior executives and our board of directors. We're also looking to bring all GaN technology to the Taunton facility, so you'll interact with the experts face to face. Our goal is to bring on board a person who can grow to become the VP's right hand.
IQE is a respected industry leader undergoing strong growth, both organically and through strategic acquisitions. We are the largest independent Epi foundry in our industry and work with virtually every large semiconductor company in the world. With a strong reputation for quality and a commitment to remain on the cutting-edge, resulting in new products that are in high demand, we continue to grow and evolve. In fact, our stock reflects our advancement and has been steadily climbing.
Technical expertise, passion and collaboration
At IQE you'll partner with highly intelligent people working on cutting-edge products. The environment is interesting and stimulating and will keep you on your toes. We're doing leading edge science and the team is passionate about it. They also are collaborative and team-oriented, willing to help and generous in sharing knowledge.
In addition to a competitive salary and bonus opportunity, we offer an outstanding benefits package including medical, dental, vision and other insurances; a 401(k) plan with company match; paid time off and more.

Solar cells utilizing concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) semiconductors provide the most efficient solution by using multiple layers of finely tuned materials to absorb sunlight across a wider range of wavelengths.
Keys to SuccessRegardless of your background, there will be some things to learn, and most likely there will be many things. We'll support you in this, but you'll also need to be proactive about getting up to speed quickly. Your technical background will be invaluable as you grow your knowledge base on an ongoing basis -- our success depends on staying on the leading edge, and the technology and the market are always changing.
Lots of job postings talk about strong interpersonal and communication skills, but in this role they are truly essential. You will be the link among multiple internal and external stakeholders, often translating from technical to commercial language and vice versa. In many cases the groups will be in alignment, but in some cases you will need leadership skills to influence others to get them all on the same page.
You will have sales objectives, of course, but we also will measure your success by the quality of relationships you have built with the various stakeholders. You should make a point of earning the trust and respect of the technical teams, sales team, and customers. Another indicator will be your ability to answer customer inquiries independently. The resources will always be on hand, but you should take pride in developing your own expertise.
